Online Chat on High-Profile Human Trafficking Case

July 17 session hosted by Marin County Coalition to End Human Trafficking

San Rafael, CA – At its July 17 general meeting, the Marin County Coalition to End Human Trafficking (MCCEHT) will facilitate a discussion on the arrest of Ghislaine Maxwell as part of an alleged international ring of sexual abuse of underage girls.

Maxwell was arrested July 2 as part of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Maxwell, a British socialite, was Epstein’s ex-girlfriend and is awaiting trial on charges of trafficking minors. Epstein, who faced sex trafficking charges, died in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial.

The public is invited to participate in the free videoconference.

MCCEHT is a public/private partnership whose aim is to develop a regional and collaborative approach to end all forms of human trafficking. District Attorney Lori Frugoli and Cecilia Zamora, Executive Director of the Latino Council, co-chair the partnership.

The MCCEHT Steering Committee meets monthly, and convenes a quarterly general meeting to further educate the public and features local leaders, human trafficking experts and educational presentations.

The online session is to run from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 17. Go to MCCEHT.org to get more information on joining the meeting.
